Goods That Give Back™
The Siletz River is home to an array of unique plant and animal species, including Spotted Owl, Marbled Murrelet, Giant Pacific Salamander, and the Valley of the Giants - an exceptional old growth forest with some of the fastest growing conifers in Oregon. Native fish species that call the watershed home include Coastal Cutthroat trout, Coho salmon, Fall and Spring Chinook Salmon, Chum salmon, Summer and Winter Steelhead, and resident Rainbow Trout. Unfortunately, this Watershed has also been deemed the most deforested watershed in Oregon and has the largest density of roads in the state, largely as a result of poor private timber practices.
We have named the Siletz Modular Carry System as a tribute to this unique and beautiful watershed. Furthermore, we have made a commitment to allocate 25% of the profits generated from its sales toward the Native Fish Society’s Landslides to Logjams Campaign; their ongoing effort to halt irresponsible timber harvesting practices and the watershed destruction that occurs as a result.
